PIZZAZZ ON THE RIVER: A Scary Music Event

Detroit (October 27, 2009) – Ever had a dream to turn your musical passion into a career?  Don’t be afraid.

On Saturday, October 31, the Creekside Community Development Corporation in partnership with the Detroit Recreation Department will present: Pizzazz on the River, The Scary Music Event.  Learn how Detroit songwriters and composers turned their musical passion into a career.  The event will be held from 1:00pm – 5:00 pm, at the Lenox Recreation Center (100 Lenox) inside of Detroit’s AB Ford Park on the Detroit River.

This event features an All-Detroit line-up with soul-funk musician Amp Fiddler, R&B soul hip-hop artist Melanie Rutherford, Contemporary Hip Hop artist Savalas, and Dr. Daniel Holloway – an MD whose life passion is music.  A concert will start the event and a panel discussion with the artists will follow.  Guests, young and old alike will have the time to approach the artists with all their burning questions.   Light refreshments will be served.

This event is made possible with funding from the Michigan Council for Arts and Culture.
