Jazzin’ On Jefferson

Creekside volunteers and members were out in full force on June 26th and 27th for Jazzin’ On Jefferson. Jazzin’ On Jefferson is sponsored by the Jefferson East Business Association and features several local and national jazz acts. Creekside had a tent at the event to update community members on all the exciting programs and activities that Creekside is currently running.

Creekside also collected money to continue improvements at Hansen Playfield. In the summer of 2009, Creekside volunteers built a KaBOOM! Playground. Creekside and the Guyton Elementary School Alumni Association are now working together to add a swingset to the playground. For more information or to donate to the cause, please contact Creekside at (313) 822-0062.

Jazzin’ On Jefferson was also a great opportunity to promote Creekside’s Recycling Program. Over 55,000 pounds were recycled by community residents last year alone. Don’t miss the next opportunity to recycle Saturday, July 24th from 10:00am – 2:00pm at the parking lot at the intersection of Jefferson and Chalmers.

On your way to Jazzin’, don’t forget to recycle!
